This 2 day programme is offered to all 'practitioners' who hold a level 4 or above award / qualification in Massage, Sports Massage or related soft tissue therapy, Sport Therapists, Rehabilitation Therapists as well as regulated healthcare professionals - Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Nurses, Doctors, Medical Specialists and Acupuncturists. Enquiries are welcome from any practitioner not listed as to their suitability to attend this programme.
This course aims to provide the basis for professional, competent, and insurable practice (UK) of Dry Needling. This important soft tissue modality requires sound knowledge of anatomy and good palpation skills which course participants will be reminded and guided through to ensure appropriate identification of structures.
Dry needling technique along with all underpinning knowledge for safe & effective practice will be covered emphasising when / where dry needling would be inappropriate. The appropriate application to a number of points/areas of the body will be demonstrated and practised.
A competence based assessment will take place towards the end of the programme along with continuous assessment/correction throughout the two days. Those who do not meet the 'competence' criteria will be provided with an attendance certificate and an opportunity to prove competence for insurance purposes at a later stage.
