Course information
This course includes TWO 60 credit university modules that is awarded by Teesside University (University Module Code PHY1013-N & PHY1014-N).
The course is delivered at The Triangle Leisure Centre, Burgess Hill and normally runs alongside the academic year. The mode of delivery is 16 weekends spread over approximately a 15 month period. Successful completion of Module 1 results in the award, University Certificate of Advanced Professional Development (UCAPD) Massage in a Sports Environment. (This module can be studied as a stand alone qualification). Successful completion of Module 2 results in the award, Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) Massage in a Sports Environment.
The programme includes all the core elements required by the Professional Body and additionally explores more advanced soft tissue techniques including Specific Stretch/STR, Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Techniques. Practitioners will also experience a professional working environment during a practice placement. This programme of education has been mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS)
