Course Information

This course completes Module 2 (60 credits) that is awarded by Teesside University (University code PHY1014-N)

The course is delivered at the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC), Cyncoed Campus, Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC), Cardiff and normally runs alongside the academic year.  The mode of delivery is 4 weekends spread over approximately a 7 month period.  Successful completion of the module results in the award Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) Massage in a Sports Environment.

The programme builds on the SPS Diploma in Sports Massage / University Certificate of Advanced Professional Development (UCAPD) and the CPD courses Specific Stretch/STR, Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Techniques.  To attend this completion course you must hold either the SPS Diploma or UCAPD and have completed the three CPD courses  SS/Trigger/Myofascial Techniques.  In addition to furthering an understanding of advanced soft tissue techniques this programme will give practitioners experience of a professional working environment during a practice placement.  This programme of education has been mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS)
